Stringing A Lacrosse Stick: Steps To Follow
First, you need to gather all your materials for stringing a lacrosse stick, which will include a lacrosse head, 1 piece of 5 Diamond mesh that should be stretched out thoroughly, a lighter and scissors (use both with care), 1 piece of 19-inch top string, 2 pieces of 20-inch sidewall string, 1 piece of 12-inch bottom string and about 2 to 3 pieces of 28-inch nylon shooter. In stringing a lacrosse stick, begin with the top string. The face of the lacrosse head should be facing you. It is recommended to begin at the right side. Do not forget that for the top string, you want to make sure you are using the 5-diamond row. Insert the cross lace through the hole at the top sidewall and then under or over the diamond, depending on your actual view. Then, put the lace through the first string hole on the top. then through the next two diamonds and back through the top hole and into the next string hole. Repeat for two more top string holes. The next step in stringing a lacrosse stick focuses on the sidewalls. Insert the string through the next hole of the sidewall hole and then put the string under the diamond. Insert the string over and through the fourth hole of the sidewall. Skip the third hole. Back up the string and make it very tight. Repeat the technique of stringing under the diamond and through the sidewall hole for the next 4 diamonds. Put the string under the sixth diamond and then right through the second to the last string hole on the sidewall. Tie the string off. Make sure both sidewalls are strung the same way. For the bottom string, make sure to use the 5-diamond row. Insert the string in the hole in the last sidewall. Then insert the string right up through the diamond and into the next one. Then put the string into the first string hole at the bottom and into the second one. Make sure no mesh is attached while you are doing this part. Insert the string right through the third string hole, still at the bottom and then back up and insert the string through the fourth hole and up right through the bottom fourth diamond and over right through the fifth diamond. Insert the string through the last hole in the other side wall. Lastly, pull the string to tighten it and make sure to tie it tightly. The last step in stringing a lacrosse stick is shooting the strings. You can use two to three strings for shooting. This part basically depends on personal preference. It may be confusing and tedious at first but, as with most things, you can master the technique of stringing a lacrosse stick with practice. |
