10 Ways to Leave those Love Handles
It would be better if you can be specific with your weight goals and with the specific look you want to achieve. With this in mind, you can plan properly on how to approach eliminating those pesky love handles – and have a specific time frame of milestones you want to accomplish. You may say you want to lose 5 pounds in 1 month – or say a decreased body fat percentage to a specific value for a particular point in time. Having these clear goals would make it obvious whether you are hitting your targets objectively. You can also make close to accurate adjustments on your regimen and diet to address certain variations from targets. 2. Commit to be disciplined. You will not get anywhere if you are not disciplined enough to follow your plan of action. You know that you can get rid of your love handles only if you stick to your plan. So anything you do outside of it, will either not give effective results or will not do anything positive at all. The key to success is your commitment in reaching your goal. This requires discipline and persistence in not deviating from the plans. So if you really want to lose those love handles, and if the only way to lose it would be to give up eating junk foods – then you should do so – even at the expense of not being able to eat what you loved eating before. While these may have previously been your means of enjoying life – with a goal of taking off the love handles, it becomes necessary to change your lifestyle and live one that will not go in conflict with your drive towards fitness. 3. Eat healthy. This is perhaps the major factor that will lead to success in getting a flat abdominals. The right food at the right amounts will be key to your journey of sexier abs. Some rely mainly on the number of hours they spend in the gym, the intensity of their workouts and their active lifestyle to burn more calories and flatten their tummies. Yet, one can get better results with healthy eating. And this will lessen the burden of your body to function well and make efficient use of the nutrients & calories taken in. Eating healthy foods in smaller sizes will help you lose your love handles much faster. This approach will also help increase your metabolism – meaning your capability to burn calories is hastened. With this approach, you are also consuming only the necessary amounts needed by your body for the moment. There will be no excess calories that may eventually be converted into fat. 4. Train your abdominal muscles like any other muscle groups. Do not over train your abdominal muscles. You don’t have to hit it everyday and for hundreds of repetitions. Like any other muscle groups, your abs also needs resting to recover and for it to be ready the next time around you will exercise these. Exercising your abdominal muscles 3 to 4 times a week will be good enough to work them out. The important thing is that you are performing the crunches in perfect form for them to be effective. As there is no way to spot reduce the abs, you cannot rely solely on abdominal exercises to shed the fat. Sure, you will build strong abs by training hard your abs, but with layers of fat above it – your abdominal muscles will have to wait until the fat goes away. That is why it is important to subscribe to a comprehensive approach towards getting rid of love handles. 5. Engage in a strength-training program. Toning and building your muscle will help you burn more calories efficiently - even when you are just sitting. Studies have shown that after a workout, your body will continue to burn calories, as muscles demand more of these for maintenance. You can enroll in a strength-training program in gyms around your place. This will make your quest more fun – and you get to meet other people with their own stories and goals towards nice abs. One advantage in going to gyms is that there will be instructors there who will be able to guide you and customize a strength-training program fit for your needs. Gyms also have dieticians who can recommend specific meal plans for you. You can also purchase a book to introduce you on techniques on strength training – and how to customize your program to eliminate the fat in the middle. There is a lot to gain as well in being knowledgeable about strength training programs. You will be able to know what will work for you best. 6. Do cardio exercises to burn fat right there and then. Cardiovascular exercises are performed to burn calories in your body and strengthen heart muscle. It also increases endurance and some of these cardio exercises can build muscle strength. If you want to reduce your excess fats, it is important that you subscribe to a regular cardio exercise routine. Some of these exercises may include swimming, walking, aerobics, taebo, bicycling, rock climbing, jogging and running. Whatever you prefer – as long as you do it continuously in a span of time - that would be good enough. It is best to do your cardio exercises in the morning. When you do your cardio exercises, you will burn calories at higher rate. And in the morning when your blood sugar is minimal, you can then tap the fats of your body for energy. 7. Drink lots of water. It is necessary that you drink plenty of water for about eight (8) glasses per day or more - especially that you are undergoing fitness activities. This will help replace what your body has lost during exercise. Water also has health benefits that you can also enjoy. 8. Be inspired to reach your goal. Learn to be inspired, and hold something or someone as an inspiration for you to continue on with your plan of action. Losing those love handles would not come easy without some motivation & inspiration you put in, in the equation. Your inspiration will give you that extra boost towards achieving your goal of a fit body. 9. Never quit. Losers never win – they never achieve anything big because when the going gets tough, they give up. Winners on the other hand take obstacles and hardships as challenges to overcome. Winners see the end result, they see the destination clearly – that is why they never quit. 10. Reward yourself from time to time. On certain milestones, you should reward yourself. When you score small wins, you should celebrate and treat yourself accordingly. However you want to do it, the important thing is that you are rewarding yourself for a job well done. |
