    Scuba Diving In Greece Intensifies

Greece is not only famous for its rich culture and history, but as time passes by, scuba diving in Greece has also gained recognition. With the Aegean, Ionian and Mediterranean seas surrounding the area, very interesting underwater life can be observed, thus enticing and drawing divers to visit and revisit this sea life.

But scuba diving in Greece hasn't been that attractive to all divers yet, because of the strict government regulations that are still in place. Heavy restrictions are imposed on some dive spots because of the government's desire to protect and save the ancient artifacts left under the sea. This attempt of the Greek government to keep some areas safe is upholding the heritage that comes from and lies within these relics. As scuba diving in Greece achieved popularity for both locals and visitors alike, these limitations have gradually though unofficially eased; so, divers can actually enjoy the clean and clear waters of the Greek islands, except for those special prohibited archaeological sites.

So far, despite the boundaries set by the Greek government, there are still many divers visiting and touring, because dive spots in the Greek seas are still in abundance. Especially with the rise of the diving schools and centers, shops, tour packages and resorts in the country, more and more people are being hooked into this sport and hobby.

Some of the best and popular dive sites are in these islands: (1)Antiparos - where you can enjoy a scenery of canyons, boulders, caverns, rock formations and assorted marine creatures, (2) Paros - where you discover spectacular reefs, unexplored caves, breathtaking shipwrecks, (3)Crete - where you can swim with different schools of fish and visit dive safaris (4)Corfu - where you can take a dip at the cool and clear dive spots and mingle with the numerous wild sea creatures and plants hiding in the reefs, terraced rock strata and caves, (5)Santorini - where inviting rocks, reefs and caves are waiting to be explored, (6)Zakynthos - where you will never get tired of surveying the reefs, rocks, columns and marine creatures; and find out more what lies beneath the surface of the clear waters of Parga, Mykonos, Lefkada, Halkidiki, Rhodes and the other dive sites of the country. There are so many places to go and there's no best time to take that smooth dive but now.

So, when tourists and visitors go to Greece, it's not anymore just for sight-seeing and appreciating the ancient structures on land, but rather, they are there to discover and learn the beauty and natural art that lay underneath the calm waters.

With all these beautiful and wonderful underwater sceneries to see and view, there's no wonder why Greece is the seat of ancient art and natural wonder. This truly makes scuba diving in Greece worth the visit.
