Selecting Swimming Pool Accessories
Perhaps one of the first things that you should consider buying from your list of swimming pool accessories is a pool cover. There are manual and automatic pool covers you can choose from to place over your pool. Pool covers are made of durable, mostly plastic, material designed to fit any pool shape or size. You need pool covers to protect your pool from environmental elements especially during the winter and to keep leaves and other objects from falling into the pool so it stays clean. More importantly, having a pool cover is an effective way to prevent children drownings. In line with pool safety, consider getting a pool fence. Installing a barrier completely around your pool is another way to ensure the safety of your own kids or kids that are visiting your place. The proper pool fence should be at least four feet high with a self-closing gate. Make sure the latch is out of reach of children. Add some color into your pool with swimming pool lights. There are more options now to the standard large white lights. You can choose a dazzling underwater light show in wide array of colors or a calming blue and white pool light. You can even choose to have a waterfalls lighting effect in your pool. Swimming pool lighting not only illuminates your pool area but also adds to the ambience, great for all your evening poolside entertaining. Painting your pool is another way to bring life into your pool. Pool paints can be water-based, rubber-based, or epoxy-based. Water-based paints are great for seasonal applications and indoor pools. Rubber based pool paints can be made of chlorinated or synthetic rubber. They give a high quality coating to the pool. You can use them on plaster surfaces, old or new concrete. For a smooth ceramic look to your pool, use Epoxy pool paint, which is non-porous so it is algae and stain-resistant. Before application, you would need to prime the surface with an epoxy primer first. Other pool accessories to complete your pool experience include floating pool chairs and lounges, pool slides, diving boards, pool ladders, pool fountains, pool thermometers, pool clocks and so much more. Again, study your budget and decide which swimming pool accessories are the most important to you. You can always add on more stuff later so take care of the basic ones first. |
